I gathered this from Manila Bulletin a decade ago:
“Human intelligence is and has always been dynamic and unpredictable. It may be innate and a natural trait or it may be acquired through academic activity. It may be clearly exhibited early on, or it may lie dormant in a person and eventually arise to full potential once diligence is manifested.
“A student once labeled a dunce back in grade school may even graduate a summa cum laude in college. Hardly believable. Yet there are living proofs to this phenomenon of sudden, unexpected mental progression.”
“Sometimes, being intelligent is just not enough, whereas if you are diligent, there is little you cannot achieve, in fact, there is almost nothing you cannot achieve.”
